WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM?

Direct Donations and Corporate Matching. Fall 2022. This is where you (and your relatives and friends) give money directly to the PTA to fund programs for your children. This is the BEST way to give to Meadow Heights. The Direct Donation Drive doesn’t cost the PTA, so every dollar you give goes straight towards the programs we support. And many employers will match your direct donation, potentially DOUBLING your gift.

Email fundraising@meadowheights.org to make a donation or to help.

Donate online (support.meadowheights.org

OR donate with cash/check (to “Meadow Heights PTA”) by returning payment with your name and contact info and your child's name and grade to the school office.

  • All donations are tax deductible. Meadow Heights PTA EIN/Tax ID 94-6184069, a 501(c)(3) charity.
  • If your employer has a matching donation program or an employee initiated grant program, please submit with them. This is the easiest way to double your impact!
  • Please also ask family and friends to donate and support your child’s school.

Online Auction. January 2023. This year's Auction will be significantly smaller than years past and will consist of Staff Experiences/Gifts, Classroom Creations and Count-Me-Ins (pursuant to parents and community members volunteering to lead and host). We have typically relied on the auction to bring in over a third of the PTA's revenue, but this year our goal for the Auction is only 8% of our revenue goal. Because of this, we'll rely much more heavily on income from the Direct Donation at the beginning of the year, and keep the Auction as primarily a fun community building virtual event with a small fundraising component.

Email auction@meadowheights.org to make a donation or to volunteer for the Auction Committee.

Grants. If your place of employment offers employee initiated grants, please consider nominating the Meadow Heights PTA. We will complete the application and partner with you to shepherd the application through. Additionally, we will be applying for grants to support our efforts to further student achievement, parent engagement and equity in our school community.

Stampede. May, 17, 2023. The whole school gets involved in this lively event, and the kids love it. Prior to the Stampede, each student gets a web page through which to raise money for their run. On the big day, all the kids wear their Stampede shirts and run around the track, trying to set a personal record. Families stand on the sidelines, cheering on their little Mustangs as they whiz by!

OTHER DONATIONS:

In addition to PTA fundraisers, you may be asked for other types of donations. Here’s what to expect and how they’re different from the PTA fundraisers.

  • Classroom Donations. In the Fall, your Room Parent will ask if you’d like to contribute to your classroom fund, which is used to purchase class gifts for the teacher. A teacher or Room Parent may also ask parents to donate items for a class party or a classroom wish list later in the year. These are specific asks for your classroom and don’t go towards PTA-funded programs.
  • Fifth Grade Promotion Fundraisers. At many social events, you may see a group of students selling food and beverages. The proceeds from these sales go towards the Fifth Grade Promotion (when they “graduate” elementary school) and not towards PTA-funded programs.
  • Event-Specific Donations. Throughout the year families are sometimes solicited for food or supplies for schoolwide events. For example, can you donate a box of coffee, a dozen bagels or some brownies?
