The Mustang Stampede and the Annual PTA Auction are longstanding traditions at Meadow Heights and fun opportunities to engage with our school community while raising additional funds to help us enrich our students' experiences by providing art and music education, field trips, assemblies, technology, books, social-emotional intelligence programs, better supplied classrooms, as well as funding additional schoolwide and community events.
The Mustang Stampede is one of the most anticipated event of the year for the students. Prior to the Stampede, each student gets a web page through which to raise money for their run. On the big day, all the kids wear their Stampede shirts and run around the track, trying to set a personal record. Families stand on the sidelines, cheering on their little Mustangs as they whiz by!
The Annual PTA Auction will be back in person this year, for the first time in several years! Last year's auction items ranged from a weeklong vacation stay to private storytime and cookies with their teacher to golfing with a pro. It takes all skill sets to host such an event -- from donation procurement to artists/crafters to community outreach to logistics -- and being part of the committee is one of the best ways to get involved, meet people and form lasting relationships.
